Armory are a quintessential metal band. They barrel through their songs at the right speed and with ultimate precision, the singer has an amazingly operatic voice, and the guitars are like machine guns. An opening slot for Judas Priest or Iron Maiden is definitely in order.
ARMORY:
Adam Kurland: Vocals
Chad Fisher: Guitars
Joe Kurland: Guitars, Drums
Thomas Preziosi: Bass
Armory formed in mid-2001 when Chad Fisher and Joe Kurland realized they shared such a deep passion for music and started jamming on tunes in Chad's basement. Over the next year, Joe's brother, Adam, and bassist Tom Preziosi joined the band to (sort of) complete the lineup. Their debut album, The Dawn of Enlightenment, was started in May of 2001, as old demo tapes reveal the birth of the first song written, Faith in Steel. Just shy of the three year mark, the album was completed (apr 2004)- a demo that is nearly 70 minutes long and that was recorded in nearly a half dozen places across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Armory plays, in the broadest sense, power metal. However, it is more of a melting pot of different metal genres, since we listen to such a wide spectrum of music; from Death metal bands like Death to 80's Speed metal like Helloween, from Classical music like Vivaldi to classic metal like Iron Maiden, to classic thrash like Metallica and Megadeth to newer power metal like Edguy. The list goes on and on. The musical library from which these four draw inspiration is practically endless, and it is evident in the music.
Now that Armory have completed writing and recording their first full-length demo, they seek three things: first, a drummer. Joe played drums on the demo but also guitar, and he would rather concentrate on playing guitar live so a drummer is essential. Second, a keyboardist. The keyboards on the demo were programmed. We need a keyboardist to play so the keyboard parts actually sound real and so Chad and Joe don't have to point-and-click every meticulous note in every keyboard part on the next album. And third, to avoid this hellish three-year process again for the next album, a RECORD DEAL! Armory is currently shopping around to different record companies in hopes of getting our material out there to all of you who have wanted it for the past three years.
