Avow hails from Southern Georgia in a town called Valdosta. Lead singer, Eric Herndon, and lead guitarist, Colt Raines, founded Avow nearly four years ago. Though the band's lineup has changed throughout this time, Avow's makeup consists of the following:
Hunter Casey - drums, precussion
Justin Gibson - rhythm guitar
Tim Harvey - bass guitar
Eric Herndon - lead vocals
Colt Raines - lead guitars
Avow prides itself in breaking multi-rock genre boundaries. From the industrial/neo-punk glam grandeur of "A Valentine for Maybes," to the heavy metal hammering of "Pink Elephant Parade," to the uptempo, universally correspondent "The Deepest Blue,"Avow's material spans and spaces out over a variety of rock signatures. In a time when rock and roll seems as dead as the flowers wilting in the winter wind, Avow prophesizes a new inception: to make rock music matter again. Their refusal to conform with the underground hardcore scene, and the power balladry of modern rock radio, shows the potential of this animal of band. Their mission is neither simple nor subtle. Many musicians and artists tell it how it is, how the world functions; blunt, honest, and to the point. Avow prophesizes on how the world will never be, a lingering thought in the back of the mind. We represent a multiple choice question with no definite answer. That reflection in the mirror that you see but isn't really there. We tell it how it isn't, but wouldn't it be nice if it were? Every opinion made from listening to rock music is about to change. This is not a time to realize how fragile and precious life is. This is a time to shove that fragility off the edge, shattering everything that gave us security; everything question we were afraid to ask. The genesis of a revolution has been fired from the catapault, and is up in the air. The catapault is Avow.
