Biography

Founder member, D.J / Producer Troy Woods resided in London, returning to Australia after a colourful career in the UK's Dance music industry.

It all started back in 1992 when Troy?s ?New Jack Swing? Duo ?Junction 8? were discovered by ?Production House records? and Terry Jones AKA M.C Juice. They quickly embarked on recording and began to pick up the tricks of the trade from some very talented in house Producers and artists.

At the time ?Production House Records? was enjoying huge success with Hardcore artists Acen, Rat-Pack and a number one hit from Baby D called ?Let me be your Fantasy?.

Advised and indeed influenced by such legends as Floyd and Keith Dyce, Troy hooked up with House Producer Mark Whitehead and Vocalist Heather Wildman of ?Strictly Rhythm? recording some extremely cutting edge Soulful House music. It wasn?t long before British Labels started to notice this cool sound and the Trio was invited to meet with the undisputed Champion of British House music ?Grant Nelson?.

At this stage Heather Wildman decided to stay with Strictly Rhythm Records. They?re after, Bass Drum Inc (B.D.I) was born, releasing they?re club hit ?Lo Down E.P? on Swing City Records. They?re revolutionary Club anthem ?Time Bomb? became a stepping-stone between Garage and Two Step, undoubtedly influencing many other Dance Producers around the UK.

And it didn?t end there. In much demand Troy and Mark went on to collaborate with Garage super star ?Gavin ?Face? Mills? AKA ?Copyright? with the Soulful House smash hit ?Dreamer??.

Many productions and remixes incurred, before Troy?s Solo career lead him to remix and Produce many tunes including ? Boom? ?Where is the love? and his biggest hit of all for ?Nokko? called ?Crazy Clouds? on Sony Music.

Once again, Troy?s career took another turn. Troy's programming skills were well know around London thus he was invited by synthesiser giant ?Korg? to help in the development of their new and innovative instruments, design for the Dance music industry. As a key member of Korg?s elite development team, Troy and some of the worlds greatest musical minds, went on to create the Korg Kaoss Pad, Electribes, MS2000, Kaoss Mixer and many features of the mighty Korg Triton.

On arrival back in Australia, Troy Woods quickly found his place on the Melbourne club scene, playing Soulful and Funky house at some of Melbourne?s most prestigious nightspots.

The releases featured on Download.com are taken from 'The Rhino E.P' and are made up of 3 un-released projects and the Aussie Anthum 'Stand Up'. Coming releases include the Troy Woods remix of the S.O.S Band classic 'Take your time (do it right), performed by 'Sweet Mercy'. Also watch out for the Darren Glen vs BDI remix of 'Stand Up' and the legendary 'Frankie Murarez' Re-Rub.
