Biography

The Prog Metal band Before Eden is an identity in constant search and evolution. The modern sound combined to different musical styles make the band sounds unique without losing the fidelity of its own conceptions. Intensifying the ideas through the technical ability of each member, the band searches for a higher level of recognition through their compositions. Lyrics that retract the world where we live, fictitious tales about several subjects, Before Eden gethers reality and imagination with its musicality. The band was formed in 1998 by the guitar player Alessandro Kotlinsky and the bass player Marcos Cardoso. Some months later the drummer Júlio Cesar Kuhlewein, the keyboard player Juliano Scharf and the singer Jaison Peixer fulfilled the missing posts. Recorded and released the first album, self-entitulated “Before Eden”. With seven tracks an with a total independent production (recorded at SGB Studios), the album had great reviews in specialized magazines and websites. After that the band assigned a distribution deal with the brazilian label Hellion The band took part in the “Hellion collection Vol. 03” among several international names of metal music as “After Forever”, “Edenbridge”, etc… Only three bands of the brazilian cast were included among thirty international bands of worldwide fame. October of 2002: The bass player Marcos Cardoso left the band due to personal problems, been replaced by the talented bass player Ricardo Tomedi. 2003: The band released a Demo CD (a previous of the new album) well accepted by the critic. 2004: Beginning of the recordings of the new album. Now the band has its personal studio and is ready to render, with total fidelity, all its ideas. Finally an album with all the potential of the band, having Jaison Peixer, the singer, achieved a higher level, demonstrating his great skills. June of 2005: The new album “The Legacy of Gaia” was released through the label Hellion Records. The CD includes ten tracks with a conceptual part about Gaia and the destiny of humanity. With a professional and detailed production, the band shows an amazing musical improvement, and centralized in the lyrics the biggest problem of human?s evolution, its uncontrolled proliferation as a virus added to an endless greed, leading to the consumption and extermination of the planet. The Legacy of Gaia is already pointed by the critic to be one of the best brazilian heavy metal albuns of the year. Modern Prog Metal at its best level.
