If nothing else, this outlaw outfit breaks ground in terms of accents--we thought it wasn't possible to sound like being from both Norway and Tennessee at the same time. Don't miss the rousing new tribute to old Waylon, a glowing cover of "Storms Never Last."
Big Bull Band - a tribute to Waylon Jennings
Big Bull Band is a well-established band from southern Norway. They came together in 1986 and they've been outlaw-country ever since.
During the last years the band has been performing at several major stages and scenes for concerts as well as hall dance, beside several c&w festivals in Norway. They do also work in Sweden as well as Denmark.
The music that Waylon Jennings wrote and recorded have been, and still is, a major influence to the band. Therefore it felt natural to record "Big Bull Band - a tribute to Waylon Jennings".
The album is played on radiostations worldwide and the feedback from dj's and listeners are much more than expected. Wich means that the album has qualities making it belong in the upper c&w class.
Read what Tony Bates at 3WBC 94.1 FM in Melbourne, Australia wrote about our album while you're listening to the tracks:A great Country album arrived in the mail recently, by Big Bull Band, who are based in Norway. The album is a tribute to Waylon Jennings and proves what a tight band The BBB are; the album consists of numbers co written by Waylon as well as those favourites performed by him over the years. There are, by necessity, some well known tracks that are not included on this album but do not let this put you off.
There is no pretence at emulating Waylon's performance as it is solely an album dedicated to him and his work. The BBB pull off these tracks superbly and one wonders where they have been hiding all these years! It is very rare that an album of this calibre, from an independent band, arrives at our desk; 'Tribute' is on rotation now and will remain so, as it is timeless...
