Naive and primitive, that's what some might call the idiot-savant-like Blake Miller. That said, he fits right in with the weird-folk movement...so look out Devendra, Blake's coming after ya!
Biography
Not since Will Oldham's early-90's lo-fi beacons of disturbing backwoods folk or Lambchop's deconstructions of the Nashville mystique has a songwriter channeled unhinged creative bravery like Blake Miller. Despite entering the recently packed and oft-overwhelming world of indie-folk, Miller's home-recorded gem Together With Cats possesses a mature intimacy and rugged brashness that have the potential to astound. And all this at only 19-years-old? We can expect great things from Mr. Miller, who's already at work on his first big studio recording for Exit Stencil. For now, we have these hand-crafted delights to prepare us for his next big statement.
