Editor's review

Beautiful harmonies, intricate instrumental work, smart lyrics, and gently energized rhythms mark the songs of this San Francisco-based folk-pop quartet. The four women in the band are each veteran musicians and songwriters in their own right, and together they create soulful, complex, finely crafted music.

Biography

"The newest self-titled disc by Blame Sally (blamesally.com) is a rich and sophisticated effort that blends touches of Tex Mex, folk, and pop for a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience."
Out Smart Magazine, Houston, October 2004.

“…intelligently emotional, intricately harmonized folk-pop” and “imaginatively arranged, expansive narrative songs”.
SF Chronicle Sunday Datebook

“…Blame Sally is a fine debut that seems to be making converts wherever it is played. The attention is deserved--this disc is a winner”.
Bitch Magazine, Summer 2004

“…Harmonizing femme-folk integrity with pop playfulness isn’t as easy as they make it sound; this is sweet, charming stuff.
San Francisco Magazine, September 2004

The music of Blame Sally has been described as emotionally charged, passionate, highly melodic, and compelling. An all-female quartet with "a unique command over the song," Blame Sally is Pam Delgado, Renee Harcourt, Jeri Jones, and Monica Pasqual. These four accomplished instrumentalist/singers combine their strikingly different approaches to create a distinct and beautiful sound.

The band formed three years ago and soon released a live album that was strong enough to grab the attention of festival and venue bookers all over California. KFOG’s Rosalie Howarth not only played it regularly on her hugely popular program "Acoustic Sunrise," but also selected a track from it to appear on the program’s 10 Year Anniversary CD along with songs by Paul Simon, Louden Wainwright III, Bruce Cockburn, Dar Williams, the Waifs, and others. With their 2004 eponymously titled release, Blame Sally has taken a giant leap forward.
