Denver's Blusom have followed 2003's widely-praised Go Slowly All The Way Round The Outside, with the stirring, searching The Metapolitan.
Be careful of what you think you are hearing. An aurally deceptive experience, The Metapolitan is Mike Behrenhausen and Jme White unrestrained. Multi-instrumentalist White creates a sonic backdrop through the use of modulated acoustic instrumentation, field recordings, traditional and digital percussion, and inventive recording techniques. Using very few samples or synths, and without sequencers, Blusom captures the soul of analog manipulations by Eno, Branca, and Rhys Chatham. Meanwhile, they manage to erect these visions around Behrenhausen's delicate, personal pop structures a la East River Pipe.
