Spanish quintet Cabala makes American pop-rock fused with Latin harmonies, and it doesn't need trumpets or violins to drive home the message of love. The players are definitely stepping beyond genre boundaries, what with their eclectic smattering of electronic programming accompanying their dynamic male choruses.
Pop with tropical flavor lifted to its highest expression. Cabala is the materialization of passion, the capture of feelings, the hunt for the heart. A melodic river seducing the soul, a rhythmic wave surrounding the body. Cabala is something constantly unforeseen, permanently unexpected. A group of people pushed by the same uncontrollable powers, forcing them to turn to music as the only way to comunicate.
The results are always different. From fear to decision; from reaction to sacrifice; the music of Cábala fills a space always unprepared.
The official beginning of the band can be marked at 1999, although then the band was no more than a duet with more dreams and projects than resources. Cabala reaches its final shape by 2003 including five very telanted musicians influenced by the most different musical angles. Their music is a breeze of fresh air in a world sacrificing quality in exchange of quantity.
From its beginnings Cabala produces original material. Just six months after being formed and still as a duet, they release their first E.P. ("Se busca", 1999) and the next year they release a L.P. ("Visiones de ayer", 2000). The response from the public doesnt wait and several of their songs reach first places at important organizations as mp3.com and iuma.com.
During 2001, Cabala changes into a trio; and unable to stop the chain reaction, they release a new L.P., "Lluvia sagrada", containing ten brand new original themes, among which the hits "Invencion", "Error final" and "Gitana".
During 2002, Cabala goes through another transformation. With the departure of one of the members, the band re-structures and becomes a quintet: Oscarin (load vocals, synths, guitars), Daviqo (percussion, drums, vocals), Jorge (basses), Alonso (keyboards, synths, vocals) and Ulises (guitars).
