Severe synth beats give a strong spine to the Killahz cuts, which fall somewhere between indie club-hop and a sort of house/pop mash. Whatever it is, it is the music of hipsters--don't bother buying the disc if you aren't also planning to purchase a vintage tank-top in size too-small.
Biography
Ask anyone what Toronto electro pop duo Candy Coated Killahz do best, and you'll likely get the same response: sweat! Grinding out buzzsaw synth rock, brazen hip hop, and saccharine sweet dance music, front-girl Tosha Dash and co-hort Icon the Anomali move bodies until they're soaked, and rock dancefloors until they're drenched in the aftermath of the best time Toronto has to offer.
On May 8 the duo follows their wildly successful 2007 sampler, Bloodsugar, with a proper debut, the appropriately-titled It Factor. Brimming with their characteristic energy and flying rowdily from urban bubblegum to grimey electro growl, the record makes good on the promise of Bloodsugar, while further developing the duos quirky aesthetic. Join the band at Wrongbar on the 8th for a raucous, unbelievably sweaty celebration only Candy Coated Killahz could be capable of.
