Pulsating with rhythm and soul-grabbing energy, Chad Pulley's tracks are as jazzy and seductive as they are punchy and defiant. A slick urban attitude permeates the whole vibe of his work, drawing on influences from techno to rock to infect the listener with a spicy percussive style with energy to burn.
"I have a mature sound, that is different and unexpected." Pulley says. His changeable style has always left him at the doorsteps of Techno, Soul, and Latin, due to his early interest in artists like Stevie Wonder, Derrick May, Kraftwerk, Prince with much emphasis on all of the Motor City Techno Godfathers and lets not forget to thank that Casio keyboard he discovered back in the day that stirred his gear addiction.
This Midwest resident (Michigan) takes a strong leap out of the studio to give us his approach on the electronic sound without forgetting those who got him there. Pulley's musical mission is given with dedication and perseverance and has always been the most important thing in his writing, always looking to take the music further than before. "I remember a while back hooking up with John "Beltran" and he used to encourage me to take the music deeper, that was the key to know where the music was going, that was some great advice." says Pulley.
"Morning Star", "Troubled Water" and "1 Eyed Jack" are three hot songs that are Pulley's exclusive starter singles with Samurai that are guided by uplifting tempos and techno edginess. And by "uplifting" we mean Troubled Water's entire concept was inspired by the recent New Orleans hurricane disaster. Okay, so this proves that inspiration can come from anywhere, even if it's in the form of a tragic event. Maybe these things allow your ears and eyes to work together.
One thing is definitely true about Chad; his music works up the kind of sound that fits in all shapes and sizes, here is another Midwest producer well on his way. Check out this new addition to the Samurai family.
