Editor's review

The music from New Zealand electronic artist ChemicalX sounds like the chase-scene music in which the hot girl runs from the unidentified horror in a future-forward suspense film. ChemicalX's drum-'n'-bass is sharp and complex and builds with a natural frenzy that's not easily forgotten.

Biography

ChemicalX is a DnB production duo based in Wellington, New Zealand. With some years of production experience between them, they draw on influences from hip hop to techno to metal. Combining eerie horror movie atmospherics with solid drumlines, futuristic synthlines and driving bass, they turn out dark techno tinged drum and bass for the midnight dancefloor. "Endsville" is the spooky anthem that may establish the duo as potential dancefloor antichrists. Blending heavily effected vocals and the crunch of overproduced death metal, ChemicalX could be on the path to developing another wave of drum and bass.
