Editor's review

While mainly electronic, Cicatrix sport live drums and ripping guitars to juice up its songs. The sound is catchy and melodic, with a progressive electronic bent.

Biography

Cicatrix is the solo project of Josh Smith, a mergance of electronic with more of a live feel. Cicatrix has been recording for 3 years with many collaborations in the studio and live with many different musicians and singers. Josh Smith is a 19 year old media student, having learnt piano and guitar from an early age it didnt take long to start playing and producing his own music. Inspired by bands such as Leftfield, Massive Attack and B.T. It was a natural progression to start experimenting with a more electronic sound. After interest from labels and publishers from the debut Shot in the Dark, Cicatrix decided to wipe the slate clean and rethink the method and sound of the music and currently recording new material and trying to merge barriers of genre and produce new and exciting music. Currently collaborating with Bournemouth singer Becca Grant, its an exciting period of reflux and creation of the new album.
