While many EDM artists experiment with first-gen Nintendos, Gameboys, Ataris, and other nostalgic electronics of yore, Color Cassette have mastered that art, taking squelches and molding them around soft vocal snippets or light keys. Perfect stuff to listen to while staring blankly at the ceiling.
Biography
color cassette currently consists of members jason corder (laptop, vocals, 8bit nintendo, toys), clint colburn (lyrics, vocals, pots and pans) with guests: andrew english (lyrics, vocals, guitar, keyboard), and lina tharsing (vocals)
You know you like it. Bright and shiny like channel surfing japanimation on a strobe lit disco-esque dancefloor; quiet and infective as a silent love virus. color by numbers should come with a chock with Surgeon General warning, it's that addictive and haunting. Starting at just a track or two a day, next thing you know it's defining your whole life... ...listening on headphones in locked bathroom stalls, afraid (your friends will catch you).
Something about those nostalgic riff, trickling over crispity, crunchy guitar melodies, tinkling in time to offbeat rhythms. There ain't nothing square about it, this is what the kids are calling cool.
color by numbers has nothing to prove - it doesn't waste time attempting to school. Ole boy gets right down to rocking that ass! So shake what your mama gave you, and don't be ashamed, color cassette loves you, love handles and all.
