Chris Douglas makes some of the densest, most abrasive digital music out there. It is challenging, freaky and cacophonous, yet not unreachable. Usually starting with a series of repeating loops, he gradually breaks them down into complete mayhem, but usually buried somewhere in the noise are consistent, complex rhythmic patterns--and sometimes even brief melodies if you pay close enough attention. Never stale nor conventional, Dalgish is a top-notch producer--confrontational, provocative and daring.
