Editor's review

Whispering folkie Dan Haythorn makes late night music for late night listening. His rough sketches require complete silence to be fully appreciated the patience of listening brings rewards. The lonely, bleak songs gleam with a hidden hopefulness.

Biography

These songs are taken from the album "Something for the Weakened", which was recorded in Dan's bedroom, late at night, and as quietly as possible so as not to wake his parents who were asleep in the bedroom next door. The hissy background noise is because he was using the on-board mike on his laptop, and mixing the songs in audio tracks of Final Cut Pro - software really intended for video editing. Possibly, the dodgy production on occasions adds to the charm, and could be considered 'lo-fi', which is sort of chic and excuses a multitude of sins. Hmmm. Possibly.
