Editor's review

In today's major-label climate it's remarkable for an unknown singer-songwriter to land Paul McCartney and Coldplay's producers and Cheap Trick's engineer. Then again, the next Chrissy Hynde isn't around every corner. Evin has that instant charisma and makes the most of her red-blooded rock prod.

Biography

DANIELLE EVIN DELIVERS SELF-TITLED DEBUT ALBUM ON LATERALVIEW RECORDS JUNE 27, 2006

New York, N.Y. – Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist DANIELLE EVIN is set to release her self-titled debut album on the newly formed independent label, LateralView Records (distributed by Red/Sony BMG) on June 27, 2006.

Produced and mixed by the Grammy-award winning team of Jack Douglas (John Lennon, The Who, Aerosmith), and Michael H. Brauer (Coldplay, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan), respectively, DANIELLE EVIN’s self-titled debut CD is a stirring collection of original songs which captures EVIN’s unbridled passion with her powerful signature vocals, layered with acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, and laden with contagious hooks.

Upon entering the recording studio, she says, “I was looking to do something that felt like an honest document of my life. I think that’s what every song is, a document of what you’ve seen or heard. Every song is a piece of me.”

Recorded and engineered by Jay Messina (Miles Davis, SuperTramp. Cheap Trick), the CD features EVIN’s talents on guitar, piano, and Wurlitzer, and also includes guest vocals and violin talents of acclaimed singer/songwriter Tracy Bonham. While DANIELLE EVIN is a powerhouse, be it her vocals, guitar, keyboard or personality, her eponymous CD reveals EVIN’s true passion – songwriting.

“Writing songs is the only way I can really say what’s going on, and clearly articulate myself,” EVIN says. “I communicate better in my songs. It’s like having a sixth sense.”

Currently based in New York City, DANIELLE has honed her craft and been connecting with audiences of all ages in clubs up and down the East Coast in the last few years. She and her band are gearing up for a summer/fall tour throughout the U.S., to be announced in coming weeks.
