More like very, very dark bison. There's nothing chipper about this Victoria, BC industrial-instrumental outfit, whose latest work was designed "to bring to the listener a devastating feeling of emptiness." Bison's entrancing, disturbing sound suggests the evil spawn of William Basinski's achingly beautiful "Disintegration Loops."
Biography
It was suggested for better results) to lay down, eyes closed or with the lights turned off, and if possible to be with other listeners, like in meditation or relaxation groups and let the receptive minds listen and get carried through a unique experience. Dark Bison achieved it's goal with "Cardinal" , when some listeners were brought to tears and others were brought to a very disturbing state of fright. What Dark Bison wanted, was to give the listener the opportunity to unearth hidden feelings and emotions already present even in the soundest of minds.
