Born on May 30th 1984 in Caribou, Maine, John Blanchette began his musical career as a young euphonium player and started playing the guitar at the age of 16 citing The Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin, and Stone Temple Pilots as influences. Since then Blanchette has been home recording at a rate of an album's worth of material in half a year since 2003. By using a virtual $0 budget, five feet of recording space, computer software manipulation, and a $10 computer microphone; he has recorded and written 60+ songs including 4 internet only album releases. While not yet able to incarnate Death Rawk Boy as a live musical act, Blanchette has played at locations like the University of Maine at Fort Kent, The Artistree Gallery, and Blake's on Telegraph in Berkeley CA as a solo act. His solo act adds the guitars of a simple Smashing Pumpkins acoustic show, the stylings of an alt. country act, and a hint of Jeff Buckley's vocals. From 5 people to 5000, Blanchette has surprised many with the stunning simplicity of a focused 20something year old. John Blanchette resides in Fort Kent, Maine and is currently enrolled at the University of Maine at Fort Kent as an independant study BA major.
