DEATH METAL FROM AUSTRIA Deprešion was founded in 1993. The first demo-tape "W.H.Y." was recorded in 1994 (more than 800 copies sold worldwide) and got very good response all over the planet. Deathvastation Productions re-released "W.H.Y." in 1995 as a split-CD with "Infanticide". Again it sold itself more than 1000 times, distributed through Morbid Records. 1996 the debut-CD "Mindgate" was self-produced and released. Also distributed by Morbid Rec. 1998 was the year of big changes after Milan (vocals) and Alex (drums) left the band. Since then Burny and Mac are members of Deprešion. In the year 2000 they hit the studio again to record their "Promo 2000" (only for promotion - not for sale). After not getting any positive response of any label (more than 50 were contacted and only three!!! answered) the band was asked for new material of Deprešion by lots of fans. So they decided to re-release the "Promo 2000" as a completely re-designed "Evil Fantasy" MiniCD. 2002 again the man behind the drums didn?t show any more interest in playing death metal. So we got rid of him. Sad but true. After months of thinking how to continue we decided, as long as we don?t find a new drummer (which is really hard in austria), to rehearse and to play live with the help by a drum-machine. Five successfull gigs showed us that this was the right way. 2003 the first decade is completed. But we?re still hungry. Deprešion played about 250 gigs europeanwide. For example with Death and Benediction in Prague for more than 5.000 Fans, with Napalm Death and Sodom at the Czech Dynamo Open Air, Six Feet Under, Fleshcrawl, Hypnos, Cannibal Corpse, Krabathor, Immolation, Vader, Therion, Purgatory, Sinister,... By the way ... Deprešion with one s (š) is the old-german writing of the word "depression".
