I started this project with the intention of just making a few tracks to play along with for fun. The more I got into it, the more I really felt the music I was creating was unique for this style. The large percentage of songs you'll find in the instrumental rock category are much harder edged and would probably be described as metal by most listeners. While I love really fast, technical guitar playing, and I definitely wish I could play like that, I think the average listener is more interested in melody and "hum-ability" than how many notes someone can fit into a measure.
