Editor's review

This Washington-based quartet blazes new routes through the tired territory of the jam band. Dig the Particulars has chops for days, switching time signatures and using jazzy phrasing with unique instrumentation. Funk, soul, and virtuoso musicianship all come together with Dig the Particulars.

Biography

Dig the Particulars is a unique musical ensemble. Blending explorative improvisation with solid song writing, this quartet gets audiences dancing off the beaten path. Spawned in early 2004, guitarist/vocalist Ben Chander and Bass/vocalist Justin Helenius hooked up with a pair of aspiring jazz musicians, drummer Devin anderson & keyboard/saxophone/vocalist Eli Jayson, honing their craft at Western Washington University, and the connection was immediate. Within two weeks, Dig the Particulars generated a tremendous response in their inaugural live performance. Air time on local radio stations from Washington to California, and a growing number of live shows, continues to build an excited and dedicated community of fans. Dig it!
