Editor's review

A nimble-fingered Zen master behind the turntables--one minute you're enjoying what sounds like a tripped-up version of a James Lavelle opus and five minutes later, you're nodding your head to a skittery, ultraloose drum 'n' bass number and have no idea how you missed the transition.

As a performer, he is even more impressive. He is known to be "the turntable wizard" for both his stunning club DJ-ing and his live collaborations in which he uses the two turntables and the mixer as live instruments utilizing their aptitudes to the max. He even takes solo parts using the turntables in freestyle sessions. The live collaborators he had jammed with include NAS, The Roots, Jhelisa, Omar, MS Solaar, DJ Shadow, DJ Spooky, and Nigerian percussionist Tunde Ayanyemi.

Hip-hop, techno, jazz, dub, rock: the DJ KRUSH sound crosses over to numerous music genres and is constantly innovative. The visual and instrumental elements of his sound motivate people's imaginations and can be more persuasive than words as it becomes more minimal and atmospheric with every album he releases.
