DJ MENTAT

Already many consider DJ Mentat as a big name in the UK hip hop scene, first releasing Rugged Widit featuring the award winning Roots Manuva, which has featured on many mix-cd compilations including France DMC Champion DJ Geros. The second release When I Give my Heart To You which featured UK hip hop legend Skinnyman, and if you hadnt heard of Mentat, then you were definitely going to now. The track was spun by some of the most prolific DJs in the UK Including Tim Westwood (Radio 1), Zane Lowe (Radio 1), and MK & Scully (Kiss 100), and receiving many excellent reviews from top magazines like Rewind, Touch and New Nation, and being A listed on BBC Radio 1xtra. A lot of radio stations, DJs, record labels and magazines started to recognize that DJ Mentat was a name to watch in the near future, Mentat has featured on both 1xtra and Touch Magazines Artists for 2006 alongside Young Jeezey, Pirelli and Plan B (Mentat being the only producer/DJ featured).

Mentat was also invited to DJ in India alongside DJ Nonames (Foreign Beggars) for a small Vh1 hip hop tour to promote the hip hop culture, thousands turned out to watch Mentat and Nonames do there thing on the turntables. Right now DJ Mentat is just about to release his highly anticipated 3rd single featuring Duurty Goodz titled Whats Happenin, which is in all good record stores from January. Although he's named after the human computers from the Dune trilogy, DJ Mentat's production skills tend to grab you be the feet rather then the head, along with Baby J, Mentat is one of the best new producers on the scene right now, with a knack for finding hooks that grab you right where it hurts, and don't let you go until the last bar. Responsible for one of the biggest UK hip hop tracks of 2005, "When I Give My Heart To You" with Skinnyman, Mentat looks like he's smashed it again with "Whats Happenin" the first track to be released be Duurty Goodz since he sighed a major label deal with Polydor.
