Drumpoems Verse 1 (Various Artists)

The drumpoet.comMUNITY was founded in 2005 to remusicalize the cold and sometimes boring schemes of clubland. It was time to bring back the sun, the warm and emotions to the dancefloor – something which can be described as Soul and please don’t get us wrong, it’s got nothing to do with someone singing – it’s about the deepness of electronic music, the communication between the track and the listener. Something that’s touching and moving your body and of course your soul.

Like-minded artists like Foster, Soultourist, Kawabata aka. Lexx and The Lost Men contributed exclusive Songs, Quarion and Dixon remixed or rearranged tunes and Manuel Tur & DPlay as well as Thabo re-edited their previously released tunes for this compilation. With so much good homegrown music it was no big deal for the labelowners Alex Dallas & Ron Shiller to compile this CD.

What came out is a story based on a vision of a few guys from Central Europe, of course influenced by legendary music from Detroit and Chicago but definitely translated into the daily life of the drumpoets. Some say their type of House is truly refreshing and original, maybe because they don’t necessary aim to be played peak-time in superclubs.

By the way – talking about clubs – the Drumpoet Community posse is running one of the most cogent underground clubs in mid Europe, called “Zukunft“ in Zürich. It is a cosy cool venue, where due to the endeavoring booking the worlds best DJs representing their skills regulary.

The honest attitude of Drumpoet is underlined by positive reactions and support from people like Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier, Derrick May, Âme, Henrik Schwarz, Dixon, Jazzanova, Pepe Bradock and Chateau Flight to name just a few.
