Editor's review

Jason Kennedy and Ken Gibson share a symbiotic energy in the studio. Ken's advanced digital manipulations (as seen in his works on Orthlorng Musork, Planet Mu, and City Slang) collide blissfully with Jason's dub-immersed style, resulting in a cybernetic flow of liquid sound and submerged, hypnotic grooves that seem to stop time. A must for any fan of Pole, Deadbeat, and Mad Professor.

Biography

Once roommates and now labelmates, Jason Kennedy and Ken Gibson (Polycubist and DubLoner respectively) hold many methods of production and style tight within their collective kung-fu grip on this album. From Ken's extremely deep and varied discography, it seems he was born in a studio as opposed to a hospital - there can be no doubt he lays it down like the warhorse he is to excellent result. Jason Kennedy, however, has focused almost exclusively on the dub side of things and really finesses his tracks here, showing an aptitude that can only come from a most cosmic understanding of the art. Despite differing approaches and backgrounds, both Polycubist and Dubloner carry complimentary and yet evolving works on Selecta CD, enough to tie this one up in a comprehensive fashion.
