Justin Remer originally started recording as Elastic No-No Band in 2002 for the sake of creating music for his student short films. He then recorded a series of lo-fi demos, some of which were compiled into 4 CD-R albums (most of the songs from those albums are now available as free mp3 downloads at elasticnonoband.com) and some of which are up on this download.com page.
The best of the lo-fi bunch have been compiled (along with newer 3-piece and 4-piece band recordings) onto the first "official" Elastic No-No Band CD release, THE VERY BEST OF ELASTIC NO-NO BAND SO FAR, and its limited-edition follow-up, NO-NO'S (LEFTOVERS AND LIVE SONGS).
Now, Elastic No-No Band is a "real" 4-piece band, with the addition of Preston Spurlock (bass, various other instruments), Herb Scher (piano, keyboard), and Doug Johnson (drums, percussion).
Justin's songs are a vast array of musical character studies, off-color novelty tunes, semi-geeky tributes to pop-culture (including songs about Run-DMC, Klaus Kinski, and country singer Laura Cantrell), and combinations of the above.
The 4-piece line-up is finishing up work on its first studio album, MY 3 ADDICTIONS, expected to be released in fall 2007.
