Editor's review

If his name recalls the hustlers and numbers runners who governed his East Harlem nabe, his game suggests he learned a thing or two from their brazen style. Red seems to channel the most in-your-face rap personalities from each coast, combining Xzibit's massive beats with the bridling power of DMX's surliest utterings.

Biography

Eldorado Red as an artist has the slang, style, and persona of a 70's era gangsta. He was born in Harlem, USA around a time when pimps, 80s era hustlers, and number runners ruled the streets of New York City. He quickly incorporated all their traits into the rhymes he spit while hustling in front of the corner Bodega on 108th St. and 3rd Ave. With the mix tape scene out of control, El Dawg took his flow, persona and realism of street life to the east coast and west coast. Performing on Dj Radio's "Street Sweepers Vol. 2" and Demolition Men's "Bay Area" mixtape and Dj Strong with Dj
Warrior
's "Palm Trees and Gangstas", Big Von of 106.1 KMEL's "On The Block" CD, among others, all helped expand Eldorado's fan base. Now with the help of his family tree, The Federation and platinum producer Rick Rock, Eldorado Red recently released his first street single "El Dawg" and received about
400 spins nationwide. Look for the forthcoming album titled "Eastside Rider Vol.1" to be released on Liquor Barrel Records.
