Always enjoyable and sometimes quite energetic compositions are what can be found in the work of Erlend Bratlie. All parts speak uniquely yet harmoniously; when one section makes a statement, another responds. Even when all parts are in 'verse', the trumpets will whisper something or the saxophones add their two-cents worth. Wonderful counterpoint layering..simply entertaining music.
