The vicious, guttural vocal style of death metal is the centerpiece of this Danish group's sound, but it's hardly their only notable feature. Layered between the growling lies zippy rock riffs and, more surprisingly, airy goth-organ synths that verge on the--gasp!--classical.
Fairytale Abuse has been a dominating artist on the danish metalscene since the band was formed in 1993. Five records and a lot of shows, including an american tour, has been on the program since then. Around 1999 they went all the way to the top of the MP3.com-list with the song "Soul Seducer" from the "Catharsis" album. Fairytale Abuse has just released its first full-length album called "The Spirit Tower". Samples from the record can be downloaded from the bands website. The music is a melting pod of goth, melodic- and blackmetal, with makes it a very unique listening experience.
