Biography

"...from his swing he fell" (Cry Child Cry) perfectly describes newcomer Fernando Ramos. Classically trained as a pianist and composer, this ambitious talent did not just shift his views from the old to the new, he brought it along for the ride. Often we hear of gifted musicians who suddenly find themselves in modern genres, but Fernando defies this or any other typecasting. He weaves all his musical tastes together with a raging piano of truly virtuoso quality.

His debut release is the forthcoming seeds?album. Recorded at home on a digital 8-track machine, the songs offer simple audio technology put into the hands of a crafty songwriter. This lack of production only adds to the music's honesty and ingenuity. Although the piano remains a foundation throughout the 15 tracks, there are varieties of layering. Whether his down to earth vocals are multiplied in lush harmonies or a percussive band of household appliances marches through a song, there is always something new in every track as intriguing as the last.  But it's between the lyrical lines and some of the most aggressive piano arrangements ever heard in rock where these emotionally driven become as shy, subtle, and vague as they are confident, personal, and brutally harsh.
