First Words is a Canadian crew consisting of two DJs and two emcees who experiment with shimmering free-jazz, unapologetic open space and strange introductory samples over East Coast-style breakbeats. Kind of like a mellower DJ Shadow or Jurassic 5.
Biography
From Deadbeats Records, comes "First Words", representing the essense of true hip-hop by delivering fresh rhymes and solid beats with sample based production. First Words is composed of two MCs "Sean One" and "Above" (formerly of Saint John's Vet Cru)and two DJs, "DJ STV" (Fredericton)?and the legendary "Jorun" (Halifax). Bringing another ray of light on the east coast/maritime hip-hop scene.
