Sincerity. That's the leading attribute of Fliss's music. The reassuring presence of a song like "Sister" shines, the simplicity of its sentiments grounded by the tenderness of the arrangement.
Winning both “Album of the Year” and “New Recording Talent” awards in the 2005 NCEIA Dolphin Awards, The Love Bus and their debut album “Going with the flow”, are attracting a lot of attention. They are a brand new band with a brand new sound. Positivity and sincerity shine through The Love Bus songs, blending soulful, melodic funk, folk with a dash of hip-hop. Felicity Burdett lights up the room with her uplifting lyrics and melodies. Her unique guitar and vocal style is captivating and her performance has been described as “innocently angelic, yet seductive”. As a surfer/musician, her song-writing reflects her joy of the ocean, life and love. The album was released locally and online through Waterfront Records in November 2005, and will be distributed through MGM in the New Year. An extensive tour to promote the release is planned for early 2006. Hailing from the surf-soaked coast of Northern NSW, Felicity finds plenty of inspiration in her natural surroundings. It’s quite common to have the pleasure of surfing together with dolphins and the leisurely walk out to the point is the perfect backdrop for creativity. The band grooves with Rohan Hems (Phil Emanuel band) on drums, Joe Parker on fretless bass and John L Fisher on keys. Joe's sister Julz Parker is recognized as one of the finest female guitarists in Australia and has played alongside both Phil and Tommy Emanuel. Her creatively original playing style brings a distinctive ambience to The Love Bus sound. Email: fliss@thelovebus.com.au
