Imagine Zappa crossed with late Miles at a time when rap had just begun and Mr. Davis thought it prudent to toss in his two cents (it was not). It's in this tradition of punchy horns, schizoid beats, and general insanity that Maryland's Joe assembles his irreverent crossover jazz collages.
Biography
It all started when I was 11 years old, growing up and listening to Neil Young, Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, Jeff Beck and other influential Artists such as Pink Floyd and Yes. Studdying Jazz and music theory led me to play with an original Jazz group named "Fat Fingers", which included Eva Cassidy, the angelic singer who had huge success after her untimely death. "What the....." contains songs that reflect some of these early influences as well as the most current directions I'm seeing out there. The goal of this musical project is to combine Jazz with many different styles in music.
