Homegrown from Boise Idaho, Focus Danielson creates the kind indie rock that sucks you right in and makes you feel lucky. Maybe it's the haphazard and addictive melodies --they seem like happy accidents--and you walk away feeling like you are in on some sort of secret.
The basement can be a dark, non-productive place to spend a lot of your time--unless you're a member of Focus Danielson. In an average week FD churns out 5 new songs, paints cubist portraits, and does 150 pushups in their basement. And thats not counting what they do outside of the basement, like driving Nissans across Boise delivering pizza. But pizza delivery may be put behind them when their debut album "Subtectonic" hits the indie charts. Don't expect the pushups to stop though, or the songwriting. Focus Danielson's songs can sound a bit like Boise all-star Built to Spill and a little like Seattle's Duster or something in between, and never lack melody or emotion. Rest assured though, as long there's an available microphone and a nearby computer with a soundcard, FD will record music in their basement while still finding time to exercise their pecks. With that kind of focus, its no surprise how listenable and appealing FD's music is.
