FYS describe their latest as "equal parts melody and mayhem," and we can't think of a more correct--or pleasingly alliterative--way of summing up pop-punk as a whole. In their case, both the melody and mayhem are extreme: chugging guitars can approach hardcore, but the hooks are summertime sweet.
This album combines equal parts melody and mayhem; however, the true talent lies in the ability to use these parts to create one exciting, infectious whole -- which is a combination of hardcore, punk, and pop-punk.
