Biography

Freaky Funk was formed in 94, by Daniel Maragato (vocals), Mauricio "Thabass" Faria (bass), Lieder Knevitz (guitar) and Vinicius Mothafunky (drums).

Since the beginning they invested in its own compositions, with lyrics about social critical and fun, mixing groove to distorted guitars, forging its musical identity.

In 97, Leo Kid Freakadelic enters in the place of Lieder, adding some of psichdelics to the work of the group.

In 98, Ebano Santos assumes the drumsticks. In the same year, the band records "Freak Demos", produced by Julio Porto (Ultramen) and Thomas Dreher. In the following year, they participates of the Festvalda Brasil, in Rio de Janeiro, where get classified between the 14 bands whom appear in the festival's CD.

In 2000, Vinicius comes back to the band, whom plays some concerts in Rio Grande do Sul, as "Cidade Juventude", in Estrela, and the "Ultramen's 10th Anniversary", in the legendary Garagem Hermetica, in Porto Alegre, where they divided the stage with Batacla F. C. Is in this year that Andrei Black Jedi join the group playing percussion and Lieder returns, assuming the keyboards. The band records diverse tracks in its home studio, at the FreakyHouse, that becomes the Soldiers of Funk Headquarters.

With the production of Pedro Porto (Ultramen) and Marcio Chichoski, they record "Agite Antes de Usar", distributed in independent way.

In the 2001 end, Leo if moves away from the band. With Marcelao (The Singles) in the guitar, the Freaky Funk opens the show of Lobao in Novo Hamburgo. Soon later, Lieder came back to the strings.

In 2002, Kid Freakadelic returns to the band, who starts to count with two guitars, being with the following formation: Daniel Maragato (Vocals and Keyboards), Maur?cio "Thabass" Faria (bass), Lieder Knevitz a.k.a. Manogrunge (Guitar, Keyboards and Vocals), Leo Kid Freakadelic (Guitar and Voice), Vinicius Mothafunky (Drums) and Andrei Black Jedi (Percussion and Vocals).

Most of the material produced by Freaky Funk was never recorded. The tacks available here for download had been recorded between 1999 and 2003, as the following credits.
