Editor's review

Minneapolis' Friends Like These ride the line between retro power pop and contemporary indie pop with loads of gusto and tasty guitars. Having talented pals like the Hold Steady and Lifter Puller's Craig Finn doesn't hurt either.

Biography

Friends Like These began in early 2002 around John Solomon and Adam Switlick. After hooking up with producer John Hermanson (Alva Star, Storyhill) & drummer Eric Fawcett (N.E.R.D., Spymob) they entered the studio in summer to craft their debut disc, "I Love You", full of nods toward the Kinks and My Bloody Valentine. After self releasing the disc in 2003 and garnering national acclaim they picked up drummer Matt O'laughlin and Bass Player Steve Murray to round out the fold.

Currently FLT is releasing an EP to quench the thirst of their highly anticipated second full-length disc due out in fall of 2004. The EP once again calls on producer John Hermanson and features a guest track with near legendary Indie rock voice Craig Finn (Lifter Puller, The Hold Steady)
