Nowadays, everybody from freak-folkers to scruffy rockers play up their Nevada City, CA heritage, and even when these homegrown indiemen refer to a "ghost town" it's with a note of pride. NC should be proud in return. This trio's debut is lean and muscular, firmly red-blooded art rock.
