Editor's review

Gentry Morris grew up in the small town in Georgia, where he began to play and write at the age of fifteen. Southern rock roots embrace modern singer/songwriter sounds akin to John Mayer and David Grey. A move to Nashville brought further refinements: a new band, and a solo album. He says he's been able to distill, "one beautiful force capable of touching even the hardest of hearts."

Biography

Gentry Morris has been influenced by many artist and many different musical genres, from the classical southern rock of Creedence and Skynard to the new age music of John Mayer, Matchbox Twenty, and David Gray. Gentry borrows from all to form his own unique sound. It is this diverse background that has helped mold his sound into a mixture of folk, rock, and soul, a mixture that blends everything that he loves into one beautiful force capable of touching even the hardest of hearts. Every song holds a piece of him inside of it, a story of love, hate, grief, anger, angst, or reconciliation. Whether it be a story from his life or the life of a loved one. He opens his heart to anyone who is willing to listen and he speaks to the listeners most basic emotions. Gentry blends the angst of youthful years and lost loves with optimism for a better tomorrow. His acoustic stylings reach into the soul and speak to the hearts of anyone who has ever lost a love.       Gentry grew up in the small town of Dublin, Georgia only a couple of hours from Atlanta and Savannah. He was hand fed classic southern rock by his father and he still holds those classics among his list of influences and favorites. His love of the guitar took a forefront in his songwriting and he began writing at the age of 15 and after 2 years of writing and playing on his own he began his collaboration with long time friend Ajay Moti. After only 6 months they recorded their first full length album under the group name Oliver. As Oliver the two wrote more than 35 songs and recorded two albums, "The Silence is Strange" and "The Xmas EP". After playing together for three years the two decided to work on solo projects. Gentry‘s solo career led him to the Mecca of music, Nashville TN, where he began to steadily develop a following of loyal fans and listeners. In early 2004 Gentry teamed up with bassist Scott Kale, and drummer Todd Newland.  Gentry is now living in Nashville Tennessee and working exclusively on his music career. He has recorded his fist solo album, "Daydreams", and is pushing it to the public and to labels and producers.
