Perhaps there are pagan fiddlers on the outskirts of Wichita, but as far as we know the God Project is the most musically ambitious set of blasphemers in the Sunflower State. With its commanding vocals and seismic synth ledges, the industrial/electronic collective recalls Trent Reznor's most out-there experiments.
Biography
Elements and complete songs exist within and outside the genres of electro-industrial, ebm, synthpop, powernoise, industrial rock, among others. The God Project is the result of years of studio work from several inlets, including Fata1 3rror and the Assembly of God (Project), the God Project’s direct predecessor. The band has been creating music for more than three years and, beginning in 2003, began to make the transition from a studio act into a live band. We strive to play more of the music live, and commit to building an even more live electronic experience.
The God Project live shows began Oct. 27, 2003 at Davey's Uptown in Kansas City, opening up for Terrorfakt and E-Craft. Several live shows have since followed, the most recent a one-off headline-ing show in Springfield Jan. 24. The God Project continues to book live shows, and has plans to branch out to other nearby areas, including Tulsa, Wichita, Columbia, as well as closer cities, Topeka, Lawrence and Kansas City. The other goal of the live band is the expansion to a 5 piece with a live drummer. This will happen as personal allows. As 2003 drove to a close, the God Project receive their first taste of international publicity with the BLC Music compilation, Interbreeding II.
The God Project appears alongside Hocico, Tactical Sekt, Diverje, Croc Shop, Soul Circuit, Type001 and many others. The Band has already receive several positive reviews for their contribution, “After,” to this release. In 2004, The God Project is already slated to be on Grave Concerns debut compilation, alongside Niekka RPM, Filament 38 and others (Release date TBA).
The God Project will also be featured on the Soul Circuit/Diverje release of “Stronger” with their remix of the title track. In addition to working out the live show, the God Project is also working on sorting and dividing tracks for release on a debut EP/CD to be released early 2004.
