UK drum 'n' bass pioneer Goldie (a.k.a. Clifford Price) has a resume that few can touch. Founder of the groundbreaking Metalheadz label, he and many of the Metalheadz artists such as Alex Reece, J Majik, and Dillinja, are responsible for expanding the scope of the drum 'n' bass genre into the global phenomenon it is today. Besides his mile-long production and remix credentials, his acting career has landed him roles in "Snatch," "Bull," and the recent James Bond film "The World Is Not Enough," not to mention the popular UK television series "Eastenders."
Goldie, the Metalheadzmain man himself, joins the Funky Dumpling roster with his latest effort, Metalheadz MDZ 05. Respected by the underground for his production skills and lauded by the press for his star potential, Goldie is the first superstar produced by the break-beat jungle movement, popularizing drum n bass and bringing it into the mainstream. He is one of the first personalities in British dance music, his gold teeth and b-boy attitude placed him leagues away from the faceless bedroom DJs in electronic music. (He even played a thug in the James Bond film "The World is Not Enough" and in Guy Ritchie's "Snatch"). As the founder of Metalheadz Records, Goldie is also responsible for launching an entire generation of drum n bass pioneers including Source Direct, Photek, J. Majik, Optical, Lemon D, Wax Doctor, and Peshay. His own, darkly intelligent blend of drum n bass coupled with his charismatic persona has won him fans the world over.
