Biography
Marambaia
Marambaia started in Brasilia, Brazil in the year of 2001 playing MPB(Brazilian Popular Music)like Samba, Baiao, Choro, Frevo, Samba-funk and some other brazilian regional rhythms in pubs and theaters.
Bandolim (Brazilian Mandolim), Guitarra baiana (Small kind of guitar from Bahia,Brazil), Brazilian percussion (Tamborim, agogo , brazilian drums) with traditional instruments of rock and jazz like the eletric guitar and bass turn the Marambaia sound into a big fusion, searching for a new style and originality in the contemporary context of music.
Marambaia release in 2005 the album homonimous Marambaia with their own compositions. In 2006 Marambaia started a brazilian tour to promote the album.
Marambaia is: Marcelo Lima (Bandolim, Guitarra baiana), Marcus Moraes (Guitar, Eletric guitar) Alexandre Macarra (Bass), Leo Barbosa (Percussion), Rafael Black (Drums).
