Editor's review

Analog synths loaded? Check. Vocoders loaded? Check. Rhythm timing sequences processed? Check. Guns 'n' Bombs are going to light up the night skies with neon tracers, destroy foundations with gritty bass pulses and welcome you to the seedy electronic underground with sweaty handshake of shock and awe. Sporting that elusive “I’m-Too-Sexy-To-Be-Human” vibe, these eurotrashed and electroclashed L.A. DJs have the art of dance floor warfare down to a science. Often compared to Justice and Digitalism, these pupating pop-droids provide sweet relief for those who’ve overdosed on Daft Punk and think that Moby is the pinnacle of electronic music.

Biography

Guns'n'Bombs is made up of Filip Nikolic aka Turbotito, a prolific musician whose past and present music projects include Ima Robot, Ludo X, Junior Senior, and Johnny Love, one of Chicago?s most notorious party promoters and DJs. Filip Nikolic and Johnny Love first met when Johnny brought Filip to Chicago to DJ one of his infamous Opaque "Dirty Talk" parties. They soon bonded over mutual love of early rave, minimal techno, Chicago jack and acid tracks, and the Cybernetic Broadcasting System.

Following this encounter, they came to each other?s cities to DJ back and forth over the next few months. Prior to Johnny becoming a fugitive due to his illegal loft parties becoming too popular and having to flee to LA, Filip played one of Johnny?s last parties in Chicago. Soon after, Filip suggested they start a music project to produce their own brand of music like "the kind we played in Chicago at your parties," and Guns'n'Bombs was born.
