Guppy Tyke follows a few important rules. 1) Start with a loop that is jammable by live musicians. 2) A live musician, who must choose a comic-book-style animal character alias, jams with the loop and records the performance. A few warmup takes are okay, but punch-ins are basically forbidden. 3) Add more layers of improvised live tracks - guitars, basses, sitars, djembes, singing, poetry, the spokes of an upside-down bicycle, dog barks, hiccups... 4) Mix with trippy effects. 5) Maximum timeline is two days per song including tracking, mixing & mastering. Maximum spontaneity, minimum fuss, maximum soul.
