Postpunk alert! Don't stop reading yet. The Dublin group may not be the first ones at the party, but they succeed by focusing less on the skinniness of their jeans than the timbre of their growls. If they veer toward Bloc Party's stiff beats and frenzied riffs, well, those are the good guys.
D.C. Pakt are a four piece band whose influences range from 60's pop to 70's new wave punk and beyond. Having played an array of exciting live shows around the country, these young bucks have proved to be one of the most promising acts in the country today. The band inked a single deal with Faction Records earlier this year and have just recorded two new tracks "The Pretender and Repetition" with Stefano Sofia who's production and engineering credits include Director/ The Blizzards/Fields/Muse and is now working with uber producer Michael Beinhorn.
What the people say.. "...Dublin's D.C.Pakt are the really new name on offer but manage to leave one of the strongest impressions with the fizzling guitar burst departure" Hot Press Magazine "D.C. Pakt pack a punch with Cure meets Franz Ferdinand Departure" Irish Independent "D.C. Pakt are just as good, if not better, live than their track 'Departure' displays". Entertainment Ireland
