From Presenta:iGetter is a full featured download manager and accelerator. iGetter can greatly improve the speed of your downloads using segmented downloading. In addition it allows auto resume on broken downloads, queue filtering by various criteria, site exploration, searching of mirrors, CD burning, scheduling downloads for low traffic periods, auto redial on broken connection, auto hang-up, and shut down on completion. New in version 2.0.1 added contextual menu support for Firefox 1.5, added a new function for fast opening of download s Referrer URL in the default browser. The function is available as a green arrow to the left of Referrer URL. Fixed synchronization of the Default number of segments preference and Number of segments value at the New Download dialog. Added Traditional Chinese and Portuguese (Brazil) localizations.

This program improves file downloading for select users, but novices and impatient users will balk at the complexity of this application.
iGetter Download Manager's Chrome-like interface is very familiar to Firefox users. iGetter's primary users are those needing to download large numbers of files. Choose a URL, and iGetter fetches every file name. Through easily set options, you can limit iGetter to certain file types. On a perfect day, iGetter could easily download those 100 electronica songs from your favorite composer.
However, we never had a perfect day with iGetter. We'd often set options, only to see them disappear on next use. The process to link iGetter with our browser didn't work with Firefox 2.0. On a couple of our test machines, iGetter would put a ghosted icon in the middle of our screen that was visible in every running program. The numerous options and ability to use mirrors makes this an application only for the serious downloader. Other users will find that their browser and a download plug-in better accomplishes the job.

"Professional work, good idea. Useful product."
Pros: Professional work, good idea. Useful product. Dima_R which gives all download managers 1 is absolutelly uncompetent and seems never tries them at all.

"maybe not the best but it is my favourite"
Pros: interface, speed, overall performance
Cons: the only thing sometimes on the schedule download the program do not shut down pc properly

Pros: This is the only download manager i llike. Its very effective and also very nice looking. It has simple features that are easy to use, and advanced features too!
Cons: Instructions aren't the best, but the program really doesn't need them...

Pros: It appears to be capable of restarting interupted downloads from the point of interuption.
Cons: It seemed incapable of downloading items requiring log-in and passwords. With reliable high speed service it seems like more a hindrance than a help.
