Editor's review

This young Boston artist combines a pop singer/songwriter sensibility with a more electro-oriented ambition on the prod side. That vision leads to pleasing soundscapes--synth washes and gently skittering drums that never overwhelm Van Aalst's raison d'etre: romantic pop vocals.

Biography

Ever since I was a boy I knew music was my main passion. To bring down these...Etheric shapes and process it in a way that could reach out and completely wrap the soul in a blanket of energy.

Now at 19, I've finally recorded my first song, with the help of a very talented close friend and Engineer, Charley Lanusse who spent alot of time patiently in the studio recording with me and mixing it all down.

My take on my music and what I want to do in the future, Is to bring a sort of...Sophisticated Pop to the masses. A music that is melodic and powerful, uplifting and spiritual. An epic sort of music with substance and messages. I think the mainstream music scene is really lacking at this point, and it's amazing just how much power it has over many in the world.

I wanted to take the electronic sounds of Enigma, and other electronic new age artists combined with my very own voice, and bring a youthful face to it.

I hope one day that the youth will catch onto this, and embrace a music that interests them, and also helps them see the deeper patterns of this amazing gift.

Music just isn't sound. It's Divinity.
