The twangy melodics and self-serious pomposity of spaghetti Western theme songs find new life in Tolga Gurpinar's synth-heavy reinterpretations. Turning gun-slung exit music into prog-tronica allows us to dig the hooks as vintage audio without being repelled by their narrative silliness.

Biography

Wildlands is an album project by Iloyd (aka Tolga Gurpinar)composed in 2002 devoted to wild west landscapes. It features soft melodies and atmospheres reminiscent of vintage western movie soundtracks with instruments like electric guitar, church bells, choir and vintage synths and beatboxes.
