Considering his "post"-heavy resume, you might assume this L.A. songsmith would take the ironic route when playing the lonely troubadour--especially since producer Mark Nevers has worked with Silver Jews and Will Oldham. Not so. This is lush, earnest alt-folk recalling Zep at their most pensive.
Born in Vancouver, B.C., educated in the desert, India, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, now residing in Echo Park, California. Imaad Wasif has been in five bands to date: Zao (desert rock), Lowercase (noise rock), alaska! (folk rock/classic rock), The New Folk Implosion (post rock), and now as a touring member of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's. This is his first solo record. It was recorded and mixed in Nashville by Mark Nevers (Lambchop, Bonnie Prince Billy, Silver Jews, Lou Barlow, Tindersticks) in a week and a day in October 2005.
